Hurt by God?
In "Hurt by God?", Pastor Jason Duff tackles one of the most honest and uncomfortable questions in the Christian life — if God truly loves us, why does He sometimes allow or even cause real pain in our lives — using the gripping story of Jacob wrestling with God at the River Jabbok as the lens. Caught between his scheming uncle Laban behind him and his murderous brother Esau ahead of him, Jacob finds himself alone at night when God shows up not to comfort him, but to fight him — and in one decisive moment, dislocates his hip to break the self-reliant spirit that had driven Jacob's entire life. This message shows that God's most painful touches are often His most loving ones, because it is in brokenness that He changes our nature from one that schemes and strives in its own strength, to one that is truly governed by Him — and that changed nature is the most powerful legacy we can ever pass on to the people who come after us.
