Provision for Broken Promises
Oct 4, 2026 • Pastor Rob Salvato
Pastor Rob explores God's covenant with Israel at Mount Sinai, where the people enthusiastically promised to obey God's commands in exchange for His blessings—yet God knew they would ultimately fail to keep that covenant. Through the Old Testament system of animal sacrifice, God provided atonement (at-one-ment) for the people's broken promises, pointing forward to Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for sin. In the New Covenant, Jesus—as the perfect man who kept every command flawlessly—fulfilled all the "if" conditions of God's covenant, making all of God's promises (over 7,000 throughout Scripture) available to us through faith in Him and our identity in Christ.
