The Message of the Cross

On Good Friday, we take a close look at what Paul calls "the message of the cross" in 1 Corinthians 1:18 — a message that strikes some as foolishness, others as offensive, but to those who believe, it is the very power of God. We examine three things the cross clearly communicates: that God takes sin far more seriously than we do, that He is a God who keeps every promise He makes — even the costly ones — and that we are loved by Him at a price so high it should change the way we approach every prayer, every worship service, and every moment with Him. As we come to the communion table, we're challenged to stop straddling the fence and let the reality of what Christ endured become the dynamite that transforms our daily walk with God.
