Each of us have been served by faithful volunteers at Calvary Vista; whether through greeters, Sunday School teachers, amazing breakfast burritos in the Calvary Courtyard, security in the parking lots, or helping hands for events. We rely on a community of volunteers who love Jesus and love to serve his church. If you consider Calvary Vista your home, we encourage you to volunteer! By doing so, you’re an essential part of helping others meet Jesus.
Opportunities to Serve
If you like to put on your best smile, make others feel welcome, and have a heart to serve, this is the team for you. We need greeters at all our weekly services. Men and women. This is also a great way for married couples to serve together.Greet those who come through the doors of our church.
Parking Ministry is perfect for friendly, behind the scene people with the spiritual gifts of Helps, Service, and Hospitality. Parking volunteers are vital to the church ministry and give the first impression to those attending all of our weekly services. If you would like to volunteer in the Parking Ministry, we would love to have you. Both men and women are welcome!
We need volunteers who can drive the church vans on Sunday morning to provide rides, to and from church, for those who live in Vista but do not have transportation. We also run a shuttle bus service on Sunday mornings and can use drivers.
Our goal is that visitors would feel welcomed and comfortable upon arrival. We need friendly people to help answer questions, help direct people, and locate classrooms for children. If you have the gift of helps or hospitality, join our team. This is also a great opportunity to encourage and pray with people as the Lord leads.
We have our “Calvary Kitchen” where people can purchase breakfast burritos, doughnuts, drinks and more at a very reasonable cost. We are looking for volunteers to join the team that can help with cooking, food prep and set up, and selling the food items. This is a fun ministry and a great way to meet people.
Do you desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a family in need here at our home church? Would you like to lift someone’s burden in a practical way? Calvary Vista Women’s Ministry would like to introduce you to our “Love in Action” Meals Ministry. The heart of this ministry is to provide meals to a family or individual whose needs are not already being met through their involvement in a small group Bible Study, Home Fellowship, family, or friends. Preparing meals is an excellent way to connect with others from our church. In times of need, a friendly warm smile and a tasty meal is good medicine.
We invite you to be part of the Kids’ Ministry! These are spiritually impressionable years when kids are hungry to learn, skills are developing, and value systems are being formed. This is a great opportunity for teaching and training these little sheep into Jesus kids. We also need extra hands in the classrooms to assist teachers. We are looking for passionate people who love children, have a solid walk with the Lord, and see the great value in investing in the next generation. There is a screening process and background check required.
We make it our goal to visit those who are in the hospital or housebound because of illness, injury, or disease. If you have the gift of compassion and helps, and love to encourage and pray with others, consider joining our team.
Be part of the Prayer Team praying throughout the week for the needs of our church body that come from our prayer hotline. Urgent Prayer Needs are brought before the Lord by a team of e-mail prayer partners.
Do you have a heart to serve the Lord and His people? Do you enjoy working with tech? The Media Ministry is looking for a few faithful people to join the team! There are opportunities to serve Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, Saturday evenings, and in Women’s Ministry. If the Lord is stirring your heart in this area, contact Pastor Shahn Flood at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more. We have needs for running cameras, operating lights, running worship lyrics, running sound, and helping with stage set-up for services. Training is required.
