Dealing With Sin

Dealing With Sin

“And Samuel cut Agag to pieces before the Lord at Gilgal.” – 1 Samuel 15

Agag was the result of King Saul’s compromise. Saul was trying to please the people and look good in their eyes rather than in the eyes of the Lord. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs that the fear of man is a snare, but the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Samuel brutally deals with Agag, the NKJV puts it this way “Samuel hacked Agag to pieces.” The lessons for us in this are: #1 Don’t let sin and compromise live in your hearts. #2 Sometimes drastic measures are in order to render a death blow to sin in our lives. Is there something (not someone) but something in your life that needs to be hacked to pieces? Deleted? Put away once and for all. Do it! The Lord will shower you with blessings. Don’t let sin reign in your hearts!
